BeautyStat Peptide Wrinkle Relaxing Moisturizer | Review

When I found out that BeautyStat was sending me their Peptide Wrinkle Relaxing Moisturizer, I got so excited. I eagerly waited until it was delivered to me so I can try it out asap. Well, real life and work got in the way — I also got sick, so I’m only sharing my review of it here now. Please continue reading to know my thoughts on it.

BEAUTYSTAT’S WRINKLE RELAXER

Our Peptide Wrinkle Relaxing Moisturizer is a peptide-rich moisturizer uniquely formulated to treat multiple signs of aging by lifting, firming, and smoothing the skin while boosting hydration.

Combined with two new neuropeptides that together instantly tighten skin and reduce the look of fine lines/wrinkles immediately and over time.  

This Peptide Wrinkle Relaxing Moisturizer comes in round, plastic jar with 50 ml of product. It has a citrus scent. Most of the time, I’m okay with the smell but there are a few days when it gets to be too much for my nose so when that happens, I tend to skip it. I’m sure you all know by know how I prefer my beauty products to be fragrance and scent-free. It’s not that I don’t like scented products by choice but it’s more of the fact that my nose may not be able to tolerate them, especially strong fruity or floral scents.

It contains glycerin, macadamia seed oil, n-acetyl-d-glucosamine, acetyl hexapeptide-8, Betula alba bark extract, niacinamide, caffeine, sodium hyaluronate, sucrose, linoleic acid, shea butter and squalane. Unfortunately it also has dimethicone in it. N-acetyl-d-glucosamine has anti-aging benefits as an antioxidant, and also has brightening and hydrating properties. Acetyl hexapeptide-8 or argireline is a peptide known for its botox-like effect because of its ability to decrease the look and smooth out wrinkles. Niacinamide is another ingredient known for its anti-aging effect on the skin. Caffeine has been shown to have antioxidant properties by slowing down the photoaging process caused by UV radiation.

It goes on smooth and buttery on the skin despite looking like a very dense and creamy moisturizer. It just feels a little tacky once it has fully settled on the skin but I don’t mind because it’s not uncomfortable even with the humid weather over here. It’s actually one of the few moisturizers I’ve been able to wear during this summer. It’s very comfortable to wear in the morning provided I don’t use any serums before it and if I do, those have to have a very thin texture. At night I can still use this after my retinol serum of choice. However, I don’t use this everyday because dimethicones in skincare and makeup would always break me out if I use it continuously. But so far I have not gotten any breakouts from this moisturizer. It doesn’t really leave a glowy finish on the skin which is what I really appreciate at the moment.

Below is my before-and-after photo with the moisturizer. In my before photo, I had only applied a thin, lightweight serum so you guys can see what I mean when I described it as being creamy but not glowy.

Overall, I like this and if it weren’t for the scent and the dimethicone content, I would have given it my whole approval. I think this is suitable to most skin types especially those who like fruity-scented skincare. However, if you are sensitive to their ingredients or to scents in general, please think twice before getting this. Also, please do a patch test for those with sensitive skins if you want to try this.
