DM Cell O2 Bubble Peptide Essence promises to improve elasticity and brighten dark spots and blemishes. If you are confused about what an essence is in general, and where it fits into a Korean beauty routine, check out this video.
The essence contains ginseng stem cells, niacinamide, sunflower oil, safflower oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil, EGF and peptides. Despite all the oils in the ingredients, it doesn’t feel oily.
How to use:
Apply after toner and before serum
Gently pat in (you will see and feel the bubbles forming)
This essence came to me in a By Sophie influencer box, but for some reason I can’t find it for sale anywhere. It’s not even listed on the brand’s official website. That may not be that big of a deal, however… Read on.
My impressions
I have very mixed feelings about this product. I love that it had no noticeable fragrance. There was a scent to it (probably the natural smell of some of the components), but I could only detect it if I held my hands directly up to my nose. The application process was pleasant - feeling the bubbles form was pretty entertaining.
Here’s where I struggle - I kept this bottle in the bathroom, as most people probably would. I used it almost daily. The little sign on the back said 6M for expiration from the date of opening. Yet within just a couple of months something went wrong. The color darkened and it developed a strong medicinal scent. I didn’t want to totally pitch it and ended up using it up on my legs. And it felt like a waste. A product should be more stable than that, or clearly state that it needs to be refrigerated. I do wonder what in DM Cell O2 Bubble Peptide Essence could get dark like that.
I didn’t notice any mind blowing effects from this essence (might be because it went bad so quickly), so I can’t say I recommend it. If you are looking for something to help with pigmentation, try this Manyo Factory product.
