This post will review the Cosrx The 6 Peptide Skin Booster Serum.

Inasmuch as I love having a simplified skincare routine, it’s so easy to get bored using the same products.

Which is why, despite having staple treatment serums, I make space to explore toners and essences.

This is because, at the end of the day, skincare is self-care, and it should be enjoyed.

I recently came out of a no-spend period where I banned myself from buying skincare, which led to me becoming somewhat of a hoarder.

But I’ve since come out of it, and one of the first products I got was this shiny new serum product from Cosrx.

I don’t know if you have noticed, but some globally known Korean brands now have storefronts on Amazon, providing easy access to authentic products.

I initially ignored them, but then I decided to purchase something from Cosrx to test the authenticity of their products.

Plus, I was always getting spammed with ads on Facebook, so I figured they must be legit.

Well, they are, and I ordered next-day Prime delivery.

Since I loved buying my products directly from Korea, which typically takes about a week or two, there’s nothing that beats next-day delivery.

I’ve used this product for a bit now, and I have some thoughts.

First Impressions of the Cosrx The 6 Peptide Skin Booster Serum

According to Cosrx:

The 6 peptide skin booster contains 6 multi peptides that boost overall skin condition such as pore & sebum, firmness, fine lines, skin texture, skin tone and soothing.

It is perfect to use as the first step of skincare routine to prep and boost.

Ingredient List & Fragrance

I must say, as an original Cosrx fan who has been using the brand for years now, they have definitely come a long way.

While they’re not my primary brand, I tend to dip in and out to explore their new releases.

But one thing is for sure, I always have at least one Cosrx product in my skincare rotation.

This product came in handy for me because I was looking to incorporate more peptides in my routine, so I thought I should give it a go.

As the name suggests, the key ingredients are the six peptides, which include;

•  SH-Polypeptide-121: Collagen Boosting & Plumping 
•  Copper Tripeptide-1: Retexturize 
•  Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate: Excess Sebum & Pore Care
• Oligopeptide-68: Brightening 
•  Palmitoyl Tripeptide-8: Soothe & Reduce Skin Sensitivity
•  Acetyl Hexapeptide-8: Smooth Fine Lines & Firmness 

Other noteworthy ingredients include:

• Niacinamide
• Adenosine
• Hyaluronic Acid
• NAG
• Amino Acids

So you have a combination of six peptides that target various skin concerns.

As usual, the product is essential oil and fragrance-free, which makes it suitable to use across all skin types.

Packaging, Texture & Consistency

This toner-serum hybrid is packaged in a 150ml transparent plastic pump bottle.

This is excellent for application as you can control the quantity you need for its purpose.

So if you’re using this product as a toner, the pump is excellent for multiple pumps without being messy.

If you’re using it as a serum, a single pump is also seamless.

The product has a lightweight, watery consistency that is slightly viscous, which is why I classify it as a hybrid, despite being marketed as a serum.

It is non-sticky and sinks immediately into your skin without leaving any residue.

Price & Availability

The 150ml size retails for $25/£18.90 and you can buy it for less on Prime Day.

The price-quantity ratio is definitely a good value for money, as you would mostly see 30/50ml peptide serums for the same price.

As part of my current routine, I use the Tir Tir Milk Skin Toner as my primary toner and the HaruHaru Wonder Black Rice Probiotic Barrier Essence as my essence.

I then incorporate this product as a hydrating serum step.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t really layer well over those prior products as it becomes foamy in the process, so I have to allow my skin to dry for a minute or two before application.

Performance

Despite the market becoming somewhat saturated with peptide serums, I have little faith in them.

My gold standard for anti-ageing will always be Retinoids.

So every other product that is simply classed as a hydrating product.

I honestly do this to manage my expectations because at the end of the day, there’s only so much (Korean) skincare can do (beyond hydration).

That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t still indulge because I very much will, because skincare is self-care.

Regardless, I like this product.

Cosrx has been a staple for me for years now, and I love how they are constantly evolving.

But will I purchase this again?

Probably not.

Because I have a lot of products to get through.

But if I’m looking for an affordable peptide serum, I’ll definitely come back to this.

The 6 Peptide Skin Booster Serum is definitely worth trying, especially if you’re looking to incorporate peptides into your routine.

It is hydrating and soothing with little chances of a reaction, except if you have a damaged skin barrier.
