COSRX kindly sent me some of their skincare products recently (no obligation to post) and I’ve been very excited to test them out!

Today I will be reviewing their 6 Peptide Skin Booster which is marketed as a serum which contains multi-functional peptides to improve the skin appearance.

Keep reading to hear how it worked for me!

The Product:

Type: Serum

Volume: 150ml

Recommended skin type: All skin types, including sensitive skin

Key Ingredients:

> SH-Polypeptide-121

Improves skin firmness and elasticity, and works well with Vitamin C.

> Oligopeptide-68

A peptide which can help to brighten and even out skin tone, as well as fade hyperpigmentation.

> Palmitoyl Tripeptide-8

Helps to reduce inflammation and soothes the skin.

Full Ingredients List (cosdna):

The Packaging:

The serum comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a plastic lid. Once you remove the lid, you dispense the serum by using the pump at the top which allows you to control how much you get.

One thing to note – the lid is quite loose, it kept falling off when I travelled with it though luckily there were no spillages 😅

The Consistency:

The serum is very lightweight and watery, without any scent to it.

The Performance:

The serum applies as a thin, watery layer on the skin. To be honest, I feel like the name ‘toner’ or ‘essence’ would be more appropriate than ‘serum’ for this product!

It leaves my face feeling refreshed and hydrated, exactly what I would like from the first step after cleansing 👍It also absorbs in pretty quickly so you can move onto the next skincare step without delay.

In terms of results, I can’t say I’ve seen too much. I find consistent use of this essence serum gives my skin a light glow and keeps drier areas of my skin well hydrated. I didn’t find any reduction in the redness on my cheeks nor was there any further irritation to my skin. No noticeable changes in terms of texture either!

Pros:

Lovely lightweight and hydrating texture

Great for the first step after cleansing, preps skin for other products

Gives my skin a light glow

Does not irritate my sensitive skin

Cons:

Lid is too loose for my liking 😬

No change to the redness on my cheeks/skin texture

Overall Rating:

4/5

The COSRX 6 Peptide Skin Booster didn’t quite meet my expectations in terms of results, though I must say it is a very nice, refreshing product to use as the toner step of my routine. It is lightweight, very hydrating and absorbs in quickly without leaving your skin feeling dry.

It contains a lot of peptides which seemed promising but didn’t seem to have much effect for my skin. I would recommend this if you are looking for a hydrating toner with the potential for extra skin benefits along the way (who knows, peptides may work for you)!
